What is a BAO?

The Ultimate Sandwich! Gua Bao, also known as a steamed Bao, is a popular food in Taiwan & Fujian.

To produce the highest quality Bao Bun, we require detailed & exact practices carried out by skilled & dedicated Bao Artists “baoists”.

From the mixing of the Bao dough all the way through to steaming, our “baoists” need to be exact in the mixing process, not to fast not to slow, not letting the dough rest for too long or even in contact with the palm of their hand whilst shaping the Bao to avoid over proving the dough. Their Masterpiece!

Once our Bao's are steamed and cooked they are cushionery & supple, they kind of resemble a paler pair of Mick Jagger's Lips, then we pack them with our Hoisin Jack Fruit or Tofu for vegans, then top them with one of our Combo Flavours & Garnishes to awaken all your taste buds.

Our Bao dough is only moderate with gluten, so you do not feel bloated after eating or left experiencing the dreaded “Food Coma” making this the perfect Lunch time or before going out food, whilst enjoying our BYO service.
