Business Details

I am a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, EMDR Therapist, and BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor offering remote therapy sessions to people in the UK and Europe.  I specialize in working with Trauma, Complex -PTSD, Vicarious Trauma,  PTSD, OCD, Health Anxiety, Grief,  ADHD, Social Anxiety, and Physical and Long Term Health Problems and have a special interest in working to help people manage and reduce burnout.

I am a vegan therapist and also support other vegans who are trying to navigate life in a non-vegan world, which can be distressing, frustrating, and traumatic.

I also offer clinical and case-management supervision to other therapists to enable them to develop their practice and work within a core ethical framework. I would say that my approach is warm, open, and compassionate. I work with people from a value-based, client-focused, holistic  stance and integrate the range of therapy modalities that fall under the "CBT" Umbrella, which include:

Mindfulness

Compassion Focused Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy

Schema Interventions

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing

I also offer coaching, therapy, and mentoring specifically for people who would like to make generic changes, in different areas of their lives,  including those who want to move towards embracing a vegan life, which can be difficult for many people when they start to try to navigate living ethically within a non-vegan world.  Part of my work also involves supporting people to make a connection with nature as part of therapy and I also offer walk-and-talk sessions.

Navigating life in a non-vegan world can bring about lots of confusion, conflict in relationships,  feelings of guilt, and exhaustion from the constant need to feel that we have to defend our beliefs.  Or, it can leave us simply feeling lost and unsure about a way forward.  Therapy, coaching, and mentoring can help to support that journey, thus helping us to be a stronger and more resilient voice for animals.

The emotional burnout rate and compassion fatigue (CF), can be very common among vegans, animal rights activists, and those of us working to fight injustice.

There is often a price to pay for being more conscious and aware.  Being more aware of the amount of suffering around us can lead to exhaustion, fatigue, depression, anxiety, emotional paralysis and vicarious trauma, or secondary trauma (ST).  Our nervous systems become extremely heightened and before we know it, freeze and burnout have taken over, then we are unable to function.  This can be common in advocates and activists alike.

Several approaches that I offer include evidence-based trauma therapies. EMDR being a very powerful trauma-focused approach along with Narrative Exposure Therapy and Trauma Focused CBT.

If you would like to find out more about the benefits of EMDR, please see:

Therapy, Coaching and Mentoring can offer a safe space to be able to develop some tools and strategies to enable better coping and help to recognize the signs before burnout and CF take hold.

My other areas of expertise involve helping women navigate and manage symptoms associated with peri-menopause and menopause. I have also done extensive training in this area using an integrated model which also helps to build confidence and improve self-esteem.

In my spare time, I volunteer at a sanctuary caring for farm animals and wildlife. I am also an activist and advocate for the voiceless. I also find connection with nature a powerful tool for maintaining well-being and see this as part of my own ethics of care for myself and others.

I offer remote, typed and face to face sessions-
