The Base Retreat

We offer a well appointed luxury chalet in an elevated position at the top of our garden which is self built, detached and self contained plus we are soon opening more rooms in the main house. The chalet has 2 kingsize beds, one in the main studio living area with ensuite bathroom and the other bed is in a separate but adjoining room. An easterly facing and elevated decked terrace with a view of the mature gardens and sunrises over the rolling Cotswolds beyond, underfloor heating throughout and a real wood burner! As we are vegan and are hosting at our home, it is politely requested that any kitchen use remains plant based (no meat or dairy products). You can upgrade your experience with a sharing platter of snacks and nibbles and a bottle of prosecco on ice. The prosecco on ice can also be served to you in the hot tub or left on the side in advance for you. The hot tub is very popular and is an optional extra. Just give us a day's notice to book. Pets are welcome but please let us know in advance as we have free range chickens and rabbits in our garden. An open green and woody area just a minute's walk down the lane is ideal for dog walking.



We have had a guesthouse and B&B business for over 10 years and after a break from this have realised that actually this is what we love to do and we have returned to it with refreshed passion! We also follow a plant based lifestyle and have a small animal rescue at home where we keep chickens and rabbits.



We are located on the border of city and countryside, just 20 minutes' drive to Bristol city centre and 30 minutes to Bath. We are also under 10 minutes' leafy walk to a retail park with restaurants, cinema, shops, supermarket, cafe, gym, pool and bowling!
